The head of Iran’s Thermal Power Plant Holding Company stated that Iran’s first solar thermal power plant will be put into operation in Yazd Province in 2022 and will be integrated with the province’s combined cycle power plant. “This 20-megawatt power station — the country’s first such power station — is being constructed on a 40-hectare plot of land in Ashkezha County, next to the Yazd Combined Cycle Power Plant,” the Islamic Republic of Iran News Agency quoted Mohsen on Thursday. Tarztalab said. The integrated solar combined cycle (ISCC) power plant is a hybrid technology in which the solar thermal field is integrated in the combined cycle power plant. In ISCC plants, solar energy is used as an auxiliary heat source to support the steam cycle, thereby increasing power generation capacity or reducing the use of fossil fuels.
